Position: Cold Fusion Developer

Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of the position is to provide analysis, design, development and maintenance for the NIH nVision development effort. The NIH nVision is an enterprise-wide web reporting and analysis application that brings administrative and financial data to the desktop for direct access by NIH staff. This position concentrates on providing robust integrated customized applications for high-speed data entry that integrates with the data warehouse and reporting system.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of the nVision web application throughout the development lifecycle. This will include in-depth participation in the form of leadership and technical application during the testing phases including Pilot and Government Acceptance Testing.
- The candidate will participate and be involved in analyzing user requirements and the preparation of all related documentation connected with this phase of the project.
- The candidate will present web application prototype demonstrations.
- The candidate will work with the Back-End, Database Administrator, and Front-End development teams in identifying business rules and user reporting needs and will develop appropriate web applications to meet these requirements.
- The candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all user and system documentation.
- The candidate will assist the client (NIH) staff in the technical operation and customization of the NIH nVision web applications.
- Qualifying for this position requires 3-5 years of programming experience working on large enterprise ColdFusion applications with Macromedia/Adobe Cold Fusion 5, MX 6.1 and/or 7.
- Must have in depth knowledge of Web page design, development, and implementation utilizing standard tools.
- Must be proficient in CFML programming.
- Experience in all aspects of maintenance and development of internet applications.
- Knowledge and experience using ColdFusion components (CFCs) and/or Adobe Flash.
- Must have a solid understanding of SQL in an Oracle and/or DB2 environment.
- Extensive experience working in a Windows 2000/2003 Server environment.
- Must be well-versed in other aspects of web development such as HTML, CSS, XHTML etc.
- Knowledge of acceptable user authentication methodologies is required, as is experience with developing and maintaining database-driven Web applications.
- Must have solid communication skills and be able to communicate to both clients and team members regarding requirements, components, timelines, and all aspects of development.
- Experience writing user and system documentation.
- Strong presentation skills are required.
- Must have completed or have experience on at least one application development lifecycle Experience with Microsoft Office (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word)
Experience using Business Object BI suite or Similar report development tool Experience or familiarity with the Cognos BI Suite including (Cognos Impromptu Client and Administrator, Transformer, PowerPlay Client, Access Manager Administration, Cognos Script Editor, Scheduler, Cognos Server Administration including PowerPlay Enterprise Server, Impromptu Web Reports, Upfront, and Configuration Manager) Familiarity with Data Warehouse concepts including Star Schema or ER Modeling Familiarity with ERWin modeling tool.
